With strong leadership, depth, and a proven culture of winning, Folsom remains the team to beat in the section. Their guard play and shooting are elite, and their frontcourt presence makes them one of the most balanced squads in NorCal.

2️⃣ Modesto Christian


A powerhouse year after year, the Crusaders continue to set the standard for excellence. With a mix of returning veterans a few top tier transfers and rising talent, Modesto Christian looks poised for another championship push. Their ability to compete at a high level both locally and statewide keeps them near the top every season.

3️⃣ Destiny Christian


Destiny Christian continues to emerge as one of the region’s most exciting programs. Known for their athleticism, defensive pressure, and up-tempo style, this group is hungry to prove they belong among the elite. Expect a fast, energetic team that can surprise anyone on any night.

Players to watch - Fred Blue, Nick Andreotti, Myles Wiggins, Mohamed Kamara


4️⃣ Sheldon


A perennial contender, Sheldon looks reloaded once again. The Huskies combine size, guard play, and defensive toughness—ingredients that have long made them a fixture in deep playoff runs. Their returning core gives them every reason to believe another section title is within reach.

5️⃣ Vanden


Vanden remains a tough, disciplined, well coached program with the ability to make big runs in March. Their balance on both ends of the floor, along with veteran leadership, positions them as a dangerous opponent for any top-five team.

6️⃣ Lincoln


Lincoln’s blend of athleticism and shooting continues to make them one of the most dangerous mid-tier teams in the section. With experience returning and a chip on their shoulder, the Trojans are looking to climb even higher this year.


7️⃣ Sacramento High


A proud program with tradition and grit, the Dragons are once again in the mix. Led by dynamic guard play and a fierce defensive identity, Sacramento High could easily rise in the rankings if their young core continues to develop as expected 


8️⃣ Franklin (Elk Grove)


Franklin has become a model of consistency in recent years. With several key players returning and a solid system in place, the Wildcats have the experience to compete with anyone in the top ten.


9️⃣ Woodcreek


Woodcreek brings back a talented roster with a mix of size and skill that makes them dangerous down the stretch. Known for their discipline and execution, the Timberwolves are looking to make noise early and stay in contention all season.


🔟 Weston Ranch


Weston Ranch closes out the top ten but should not be overlooked. The Cougars have reloaded with young, hungry talent, with a few key transfers and are capable of upsetting anyone ahead of them on this list. Expect them to be a major factor in tournament play and late-season matchups.

Natomas – Athletic and fast, capable of a breakout season.

Rodriguez – Talented group with solid leadership and depth.

Venture Academy – Competitive and well-coached, with scoring punch.

McClatchy – Gritty, improving roster ready to make a statement this year.

  • Christian Brothers - Well Coached and very familiar with the big stage and what it takes to bring it home.

Final Word


The Sac-Joaquin Section continues to showcase some of the best basketball in Northern California—rich with talent, coaching, and competitive fire. From powerhouse programs to hungry underdogs, the 2025–26 season is shaping up to be one of the best yet.
